چکیده

The direct deposition of polyethyleneimine (PEI), a weak polycation with large content amino groups, onto sand fractions different sizes (F70, F100, F200, and F355), resulted in versatile core-shell sorbents for water cleaning. Herein, PEI the polyanion poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) were directly precipitated as an nonstoichiometric polyelectrolyte complex ([PEI]:[PAA] = 2:1) surface followed by cross-linking glutaraldehyde (GA) at three molar ratios ([CHO]:[amine] 1:10; 1:5; 1:1 r). Non-crosslinked chains washed out strongly basic (pH 14) acidic 0) media. sand/PEI-GA composites evaluated to determine organic shell stability using swelling experiments X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. sorbed/desorbed amount two model pollutants (copper ions bromocresol green) column depended on fraction size degree shell. maximum recorded values, after five loading/release cycles pollutant species F70/PEI-GAr, F100/PEI-GAr, F200/PEI-GAr, F355/PEI-GAr, situated between 0.7–5.5 mg Cu2+/mL 3.7–15 BCG/mL column. Sand/PEI-GAr could act promising sorbents, low-cost eco-friendly, which be applied purification procedures.

Chitosan/nanosilver Nanofiber Composites with Enhanced Morphology and Microbiological Properties

In recent years natural polymers have been widely used in biomedical applications. Application of natural and biocompatible polymers in wound dressing, medical sutures and tissue engineering are extensively growing. Additional properties are provided when metal nanoparticles such as silver and gold are incorporated in to the fibers. However, nowadays nanofibers due to their inherent properties ...

Laminar Tendon Composites with Enhanced Mechanical Properties.

PURPOSE A strong isotropic material that is both biocompatible and biodegradable is desired for many biomedical applications, including rotator cuff repair, tendon and ligament repair, vascular grafting, among others. Recently, we developed a technique, called "bioskiving" to create novel 2D and 3D constructs from decellularized tendon, using a combination of mechanical sectioning, and layered ...

Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties of Graphene/Cu2SnSe3 Composites

Cu2SnSe3 material is regarded as a potential thermoelectric material due to its relatively high carrier mobility and low thermal conductivity. In this study, graphene was introduced into the Cu2SnSe3 powder by ball milling, and the bulk graphene/Cu2SnSe3 thermoelectric composites were prepared by spark plasma sintering. The graphene nanosheets distributed uniformly in the Cu2SnSe3 matrix. Meanw...

Enhanced Thermoelectric Properties of Cu3SbSe3-Based Composites with Inclusion Phases

Cu3SbSe3-based composites have been prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) combined with spark plasma sintering (SPS) technology. Phase composition and microstructure analysis indicate that the obtained samples are mainly composed of Cu3SbSe3 phase and CuSbSe2/Cu2–xSe secondary phases. Our results show that the existence of Cu2–xSe phase can clearly enhance the electrical...

Graphene nanoplatelets induced heterogeneous bimodal structural magnesium matrix composites with enhanced mechanical properties

In this work, graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) reinforced magnesium (Mg) matrix composites were synthesised using the multi-step dispersion route. Well-dispersed but inhomogeneously distributed GNPs were obtained in the matrix. Compared with the monolithic alloy, the nanocomposites exhibited dramatically enhanced Young's modulus, yield strength and ultimate tensile strength and relatively high pla...
